Utililsing the Open Microscopy Environment's OMERO , This image database makes use of a client - server architecture. The Server (i.e. the database) resides on a server within the IMU. The client is a local program on your computer that you use to access data (i.e. your images) stored on the server. You can download the client programs from the openmicroscopy web site, or we have put the relevant client programs in the "omero" folder in the IMU folder on IMU's shared network drive (for instructions on mounting the network drive, see here). Note that the database is populated by "importing" your images from any computer to the database using the OMERO.importer application. Once your images are "in" the system, you use the OMERO.insight to gain insight into your images. See below for screenshots and a complete lilst of file formats supported by OMERO. After you successfully start eiher the importer or the insight client you must login to the database. The address for the database is "sekudu.imb.a-star.edu.sg" and the username and password are the same as those you would use to login to any other microscope in the IMU. Give it a try today!
